12/11/2008 @ 7:00 AM in Bedford County,Tennessee

We wanted some rain and now we have a mess on our hands. It could get worse before it gets better, especially to our East and North East. Here in Bedford County we had .46 ” of rain for the last 24 hours on top of the nearly 3″ yesterday. The ground is soft and mucky. Reports have come in concerning trees down and flooded roads but Temperature has held steady at 36 deg over night and no freezing conditions yet. Tonight Temp will fall below freezing and even without Snow Fall things will get slick in places. Any Snow we get on the ground will not stick, at least not for long. This weather moves on by and heads up towards New England later today as a Nor’easter Storm. Now for the relevant facts.

Temperature is 36 deg. and has been so for several hours, it should go up a degree or so today but not much. Later this afternoon Temp will fall to freezing levels.

Barometer is down to 29.70″ and may go a little lower before starting back up later this evening. Strong low pressure is to our South and heading more or less Northeast and eventually away from us. This is the same Low Pressure system that caused a lot of Storm Damage and Tornado’s in Texas and now Mississippi.

Humidity is 98% and has been for a while. Not much you can say about that except it’s really WET outside.

Wind is from the North at 12 mph and hitting 14 from time to time. Wind will stay Northerly today and speed may drop only when the area of Low Pressure moves further away.

Sky is overcast and will not break up today. Airport in Shelbyville reports ceiling at 500 feet.

Forecast for Thursday is WET and cool, colder this afternoon rain possibly ending as flurries or light non accumulating snowfall this evening. We still expect dry milder weather for the Weekend after a transition day on Friday. Have a good day and stay in if you can.
