12/20/2008 @ 7:00 AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

The Sun made it’s presence known for a short while Friday afternoon. We have not seen much Sunshine lately, we recorded rainfall for the 5th day in a row. I had .02 in my CoCoRaHs Rain Gauge. That is also the 12th day out of 20 for December that we have had measurable precipitation. The Nashville Office of the National Weather Service tied a Record High Temperature set last in 1889 of 73 deg. Nashville had more Sun in the afternoon than we did here in Bedford County, I recorded 70 deg for a high. The overcast has broken up some and we may get a little Sun this morning but looking for more clouds and rain tonight. The people that know about these things say we could even get a Thunder Shower tonight. There is another Front passing through this area tonight, the tail end of the latest storm to bash the mid-west and north east. After this one gets by it looks to be much colder possibly 10 deg. for a low on Sunday night. Now for today’s facts.

Temperature this morning is 37 deg. at 7 AM and will rise to mid 50’s or so with lows tonight of 32 to 35 in some areas. Colder Sunday and much Colder Sunday night.

Barometer is Steady at 29.95″ which is in the range we see changeable weather. Pressure should Rise dramatically Sunday with Strong pressure and ushering in Cold Air.

Humidity is 85% and will remain moist with more rain today and a lot of surface moisture on the ground. December is usually a cool damp month any way. Sun angle is low and by the way Winter Solstice is at 11:47 AM Sunday morning. The days will gradually get longer but it will be awhile before we see any real difference.

Wind is Calm this morning but it will be Southerly and breezy later today and tonight. Sunday the Wind shifts to North West with the passing of the front.

Sky this morning is Partly Cloudy (Alto Cumulus) and will be cloudy later. Should be clearing Sunday and Sunny but much colder.

Forecast Summary for Today and Sunday is Mild Temps today with increasing rain chances. Rain and maybe a Thunder Storm tonight. Clearing and Colder Sunday. Very Cold Sunday night. Have a great weekend and I hope to see you in Church on Sunday.
