1/8/2009 @ 7:00 AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

I’m seeing nothing but clear Sky this morning and we are looking for a couple of dry “Average ” January days. The upper air disturbance that passed over during the night was not able to produce any snow. There was one similar system yesterday afternoon that generated some wind and a few sprinkles. We have .01″ of Rain in the gauge this morning. There are a few more of those scattered across the continent but they are not likely to take direct aim on Bedford County and they don’t look as wet as the ones we saw on the map yesterday. Upper Northwest still getting pounded with mostly rain and their current round may send us some rain by Friday night. Here in Middle Tennessee we have a couple of days to recover and do some chores. The big story this Winter around here has been the Wind, we have had several wind events and it looks like my roof needs a few shingles. I doubt if Lowe’s sells just a “few” however. Now here are the facts for today.

Temperature is 36 deg. and rising to 47 by this afternoon. Clear sky overnight and the fact that it’s January means we will see 22 to 25 degree lows tonight. Highs in mid 50’s for Friday.

Barometer is 29.80″ and Rising slowly. The pressure is trending up but not making any fast moves for next 24 hours. Our dry calm weather is not a long term trend.

Humidity is 80% here and 60% in the Concrete jungle’s of the “Big City”. But we are drying out and as the ground drys up some our Humidity here will fall as well.

Wind is from the West currently and will trend from the West and Northwest. Speed is 2 mph but will be 10 to 20 mph later today. We just can’t get much relief from the wind here lately.

Sky is clear and will remain so for next 24 hours. Maybe a few fair weather Cumulus clouds.

The summary today, Fair and seasonably cool. Cold tonight, slightly warmer Friday. First half of the weekend looks wet, but lets take a further look at that tomorrow. Have a good day.
