1/22/2009 @ 7:00 AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

We are off and running on another fine Sunny Day. Now that the ground has thawed we actually are getting to dry up around here at least briefly. Temperatures are cold this morning but will rise into the low 50’s today. We may not even go below freezing tonight in some places. Friday looks to be in the 60’s with increasing clouds and later rain chances. A strong cold front will cool us down for the weekend but no real winter time precipitation problems. The weekend and the first of next week are shaping up to be about average for late January. The majority of the country looks relatively calm and the forecast for the Jet Stream is showing any potential storm tracks staying well to our North next week, or at least for the 1st half anyway. Maybe we have had our bad weather for January but February can be a bear at times as well. We just have to wait and see what the Groundhog says. Now for the facts.

Temperature at 7:00 AM is 23 degrees, a cold start but rising quickly into the mid 50’s. Down to 32 degrees tonight and 60 tomorrow.

Barometer Rising at 30.15″ but will not rise much more, we get a dip on Friday evening and some associated rain chances but the pressure should rebound and remain in the 30’s and our weather will be at least calm if cold.

Humidity is 75% this morning which is low for this hour of the day. Not a lot of frost last night here. Southerly breeze will pick up some moisture but not the heavy rains of some past weather events here lately.

Wind is SE @ 2 mph this morning. Light winds from the South today, a bit gustier on Friday and shifting North in later part of the day on Friday.

Sky is Partly Cloudy with more Sun than Clouds most of the day, more Clouds tonight and mostly cloudy on Friday.

The forecast summary is Fair and Mild today, Cool tonight, Cloudy and warmer Friday. Highs today in 50’s and near 60 on Friday. Rain chances return late day on Friday. Still no big problems on the horizon at this time. Have a great day.
