Looking for a bit of sun today and a chance to dry out just a bit. Our ridge of warm air moved out and fortunately for us the winter precipitation moved through quickly. We had Snow here for only about 45 minutes and then a brief period of sun before the clouds returned. Our total precip for the last 24 hours including melted snow was only .10″. High today with a little sun should be 45 degrees and then 25 for a low tonight. That is about average for late January. A Cold Front passes thru over night but it should be mostly dry, our High on Friday may not make 40 degrees however. The weekend is looking nice so far as January may end with a warming trend. February quietly arrives on Sunday, Groundhog day is Monday. We still have a active Southern jet stream sending pulses of weather across the Southern United States and one of those is projected to impact us on Monday. Cold air will still be in place with some reinforcement from the North West, it’s a ways off yet but it bears keeping a eye on. Mean while let’s just enjoy a little Fair cold weather for a few days. Winds will be light and Northerly until at least Saturday. And finally here are facts as we found them at 7:00 this morning.

Temperature is 28 degrees. A cold dreary start but hopefully going up to 45 with at least some sun. Cold tonight and about 25 degrees for a low.

Barometer is back up to 30.10″ and rising, it may briefly dip a bit overnight with a air mass passing through but then trending up for the end of the week.

Humidity is 80% and drying out today. We have a lot of water on the ground but that should improve over the next couple of days.

Wind is North at 2 mph. Looking for Northerly for next couple of days with generally light winds.

The sky is overcast but we should see clearing as the days goes on. I think Friday will be Sunny.

The summary for today is Clearing and cool, Some clouds and colder overnight and Sunny but cold on Friday. High today 45 low tonight 25. High on Friday 39. There could be a flurry overnight but the indications are we don’t have enough moisture with this front to cause any real problems. Weekend looks nice. See ya tomorrow.
