2/2/09 @ 7:00 AM in Bedford County, Tennesee

Our “Significant Winter Weather Event” is a bust this morning as I don’t see anything except for a couple of lonely Snowflakes here and there and those are melting. However the big news I’m hearing from Pennsylvania this morning is….Phil Says “Six More Weeks of Winter!”
Phil’s official forecast as read February 2nd, 2009 at sunrise at Gobbler’s Knob:Hear Ye Hear Ye
On Gobbler’s Knob this glorious Groundhog Day, February 2nd, 2009
Punxsutawney Phil, Seer of Seers, Prognosticator of all Prognosticators
Awoke to the call of President Bill Cooper
And greeted his handlers, Ben Hughes and John Griffiths
After casting a joyful eye towards thousands of his faithful followers,
Phil proclaimed that his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers were World Champions one more time
And a bright sky above me
Showed my shadow beside me.
So 6 more weeks of winter it will be…….You can’t argue with science so we just have to hang in there until March 20. The rain and snow mix will end early this morning but clouds will persist and we warm up to 45 or so. Looks like a low of around 25 with more clouds tonight. We get a shot for more snow Tuesday morning and colder temperatures with a high of only 40 degrees on Tuesday. Now for the facts. We have .06″ of rain in the gauge this morning.

Temperature at 7:00 is 34 degrees. It may be a bit colder in places and we just had a brief shot of snow showers, but what falls is melting quickly. High goes up to 45 by this afternoon. Low tonight of 25. Colder and another snow chance Tuesday morning.

Barometer is 30.10″ and steady. No big pressure changes for the next 24 hours.

Humidity is 92%. We stay wet for the next 24 hours, continuing our trend of a wet Winter season.

Wind is Northwest at 6 mph. We will maintain our Northwest direction for the next 24 hours. Wind speed light today but perhaps gusty on Tuesday.

Sky is overcast. and will not clear up until late day Tuesday. Our next sunny day will be Wednesday.

The summary for today is Cloudy with rain snow mix this morning. Cloudy this afternoon. High of 45 degrees and Low tonight in the mid 20’s. Slight snow chance Tuesday morning and colder.
Six weeks until Spring….meanwhile we still have some Winter to deal with. Have a good Monday.
