A Matter of Perspective

As the old saying goes “A recession is when your neighbor loses his job. And a depression is when you lose your job.” The condition of our economy is just a matter of perspective. I’ve been unemployed now for a little over 2 months, with no prospects. There are not any industries or businesses hiring people in this county. The only exception might be grocery stores for the over night shift or some fast food jobs. You can’t make a living on jobs like that, especially if you are drawing unemployment. The State will just lower your benefit. It’s hard for a 54 year old man to do that kind of work either. There are very few jobs of any kind and what there are go to the young and the strong. People who are still working are mostly insulated from the problem and I’m hearing more and more “How’s the job search going”? WELL I’LL TELL YOU! NOT TO GOOD!!!

Only when it happens to them do they wake up and realize what’s going on. I know a guy that got a raise on Monday and was then laid off on Wednesday. He totally did not see it coming. He thought if he worked hard he would be irreplaceable. Well guess what….everybodys getting screwed this time around.

If you are working you need to be getting prepared for when you will be unemployed. Because it’s coming if things keep on. The Obama Government wants to give stimulus money to the states and local governments. Now…how much of that will trickle down to me and you as any kind of help. The crooks will divert 95% of anything that comes along. I don’t see much CHANGE yet. The Obama people are mostly the old Clinton people or Washington ELITE. People who have Drivers and employ household staff don’t know a DAMN thing about how I live and don’t care about whether I have a job or not. I guess we really need to give President Obama more time, but so far he hasn’t shown us anything but the usual Liberal photo opportunities.
