2/5/2009 @ 7:00 AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

I must confess I’m not doing a very good job of predicting Low temperatures this week because 15 wasn’t nearly low enough last night. We hit 6 degrees at 6:30 this morning. But we were up to 9 by 7:00 AM however and rising rather quickly with a sky full of sunshine. We will end up well above freezing at near or slightly over 40 degrees. Calm winds will become Southerly at some point this morning and a already increasing Humidity level is a indication of change in our Air Mass overhead. Friday looks to be even warmer. As a matter of note on this day last year we experienced one of the worst Tornado out breaks Tennessee has ever had according to the National Weather Service. While Spring Storm Season is still a little ways off you can’t ever rule out Severe Weather at any time in Tennessee. The next big Storm could be just one air mass change away. A good example of that is today in the 5 day forecast from the National Weather Service there is mention of Thunderstorms in the Monday Night and Tuesday slots so while our weather can be a little slow from time to time you have to be watchful. Now for the facts this morning.

Temperature is 9 degrees at 7:00 after a low of 6 over night. Rising quickly this morning and look for 40 degrees today.

Barometer is 30.55″ and rising, well above what I would have projected and the strong pressure has had a lot to do with our Cold temps.

Humidity is 85% up from the last couple of days. A good indicator of a change in the atmosphere.

Wind is Calm this morning but will become Southerly today and thus we get to warm up a bit.

The summary for today is Fair Sky and not quite as cold with High near 40 degrees, Low tonight of around 25. High tomorrow near 55 degrees. Not as windy as it has been for the last few days and what we get will not feel as cold. A needed break from the frigid cold of the last couple of days. Have a good day and we will see you on Friday.
