12/10/2009 @ 7:00 AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

We will not see a lot of Sun today but I wouldn’t rule out a occasional opening in the clouds here and there. Rain chances are returning this morning especially to our Northwest. We have been dry here for the last 24 hours and in fact we have not reported any precipitation since Feb. 2 and that was not much. The weather we get today is only round 1 of a one two punch and today is not expected to be severe but you might hear a rumble of thunder and it will be windy. We have averaged 8 mph continuously all night and are running 11 right now. Tonight and the first half of tomorrow round two comes through and you need to have your Weather Radio on especially over night. The Intellicast Severe Weather Charts show East Texas and Louisiana in a Moderate Risk of Severe weather for today. That moves in here for Tonight and Wednesday but is down graded to a Slight risk for us. After this all clears out Wednesday evening we start to cool off a bit and by Friday we are looking at seasonal normal temperatures. The good news is the “normals” are starting to get close to 50 degrees now that we are nearly half way thru February. So we just have to keep a eye on things today and especially tonight and tomorrow. Now for the facts.

Temperature at 7:00 is 56 degrees, on the way up to 66 for a High. Low tonight near 55.

Barometer is 30.10″ and falling slowly. Pressure is on the way down but not in a free fall. We are looking for a continued drop over night and how low it goes will be a indicator of our Severe Weather chances.

Humidity is 65% and steady right now but we can expect to be wet at some point in the next 24 hours.

The Wind is Southeast at 11 and gusty. Look for some 30 mph gust later today and maybe stronger Wednesday. Sometime Wednesday evening a Shift to the Northwest will indicate a end to our current Spring Break.

Sky is Overcast this morning and will be mostly cloudy today and tonight.

The summary for today is Cloudy and mild. Rain showers likely today and possible Thunder showers later today. Tonight Storm chances increase so turn on the Weather Radio. Wednesday is projected to be Stormy. Temperatures still running mid 60’s for Highs and Low 50’s at night. Keep your level of awareness up today and tonight, have a good day.
