AGAIN, SOMEOF THESE STORMS MAY REACH SEVERE THRESHOLDS..SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT…SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGER ACTIVATION MAY BE NEEDED.

The guys at the Weather Service Office are usually conservative about issuing Statements of that nature especially over 12 hours in advance and when they do I think we need to heighten our level of awareness. It appears from just a casual glance at the early morning Satellite pictures that our approaching weather has strengthened over West Texas over night. It will be here late tonight and simply the fact that we will be impacted during the over night, and after bed time for most people, causes me to be a bit concerned. Today will be delightful however with a High near 60 degrees. The wind is calm this morning but will be shifting to the South this morning. The South wind will fuel the warm up today and the warmer air could fuel some Thunder Showers over night. This still does not look any where near as rough as last week but I have a obligation to pass on what the National Weather Service sends me. I expect the Barometric pressure to start dropping today and once again the amount of the drop and how rapidly is a fair indicator of the strength of approaching weather. At least that’s what my Granny taught me. Meanwhile today will be Fair but with increasing clouds, now for the facts from our morning instrument observations.

There was no precipitation in the last 24 hours.
Temperature at 7:00 is a cold 19 degrees. Quickly warming to 58 for our High this afternoon. Tonight’s low might not be lower than 50 degrees in the Southern part of Middle Tennessee.

Barometric pressure is 30.25″ this morning and has been steady but I think we will see it dropping throughout the day.

Humidity is 88% this morning and has risen a good bit in the last 8 hours.

Wind is calm this morning after having been Northerly for the last couple of days. We will be freshening from the South early this morning and speeds picking up to 10 mph. Hopefully this Front doesn’t have the wind we saw last Wednesday.

Sky is mostly clear this morning but Clouds will be on the increase and expect Cloudy conditions by tonight.

The Forecast Summary for Southern Middle Tennessee today is Fair and Warmer today with increasing Clouds. High of 58 degrees this afternoon. Rain chances late tonight with a Chance of Thunderstorms some of which may be severe. Showers and storms could persist through mid day on Wednesday. So…have that weather radio on when you go to bed tonight. Spring is still 31 days away but it looks like the Spring Storm season is trying to kick off early this year. Oh…by the way we could see Snow Flurries as all this clears out. Winter wants to keep it’s hand in there too. Have a good day.
