2/27/2009 @ 7:00 AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

We got up early this morning, 4 AM kinda early. The NOAA weather radio issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch at 4 AM that was supposed to be valid until 8 AM but by 6 O’clock that had been canceled. There was a fairly impressive line of Thunderstorms to our North but the line flattened out and moved past us to the North. Another lesser lineup of Strong Showers moved past to the South, so we caught a gap and so far this morning have escaped with only .02″ of rain. We likely have already experienced our High today of 62 degrees and Temperatures are dropping a bit now. It looks like after a rain free but likely Cloudy day showers return tonight and Saturday. Saturday afternoon the seriously colder air moves in and almost everyone I look at is calling for at least a dusting to a inch of Snow. I haven’t had any luck all Winter forecasting Snow so I’m still in a wait and see mode. I’m sure that by tomorrow morning we will have a clearer picture of what’s happening. But anyway you look at it the next 24 hours will be interesting. It’s cloudy and some fog in the area here this morning but most of the rain is out of our area for today. Now for the facts.

We have had .02″ of rain for the last 24 hours.
Temperature at 7 AM is 56 degrees, down from the 62 we had at mid night and we likely will not be any warmer today than we are now. Low tonight of 45 with more rain moving in.

Barometer is 29.90″ and Steady now. We have had a drop in pressure but nothing serious. We can expect a bit more drop later today.

Humidity is 90% and we will remain moist for the next day or so at least.

Wind is South at 5 mph. The speed has dropped from the gusty conditions we had yesterday but it will pickup some again later today. Saturday afternoon when the shift North comes is when the Snow could arrive.

Sky is Overcast and we will not see much Sun today but there will be breaks in the Clouds from time to time.

The Summary for today is Mostly Cloudy and Rain returning later today. Steady Temperatures this morning falling to mid 40’s overnight. Rain for Saturday morning possibly changing over to Snow Saturday evening. Have a great Friday, we will look at this again Saturday.
