4/2/2009 @ 7 AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

The game is on today. At 7 AM with 50 degrees and rising and will be near 60 by 8 O’clock. The clear sky of yesterday and last night has quickly yielded to a great deal of Cloudiness and off to the Southeast of my location I see a Cumulonimbus or Thunder head already building in the sky. That is moving off to the east at a pretty fair clip but we have most of the elements for a stormy day already in place this morning not the least of which is a low Barometer at 29.75″ this morning. The Weather Service is advising that they expect a good deal of low level wind shear this afternoon so we could have a Tornado Outbreak. The Official story is “Isolated Tornado’s”, but it only takes one so this afternoon and evening we are under the gun for Severe Weather. So if you are a Facility Manager in a Major Downtown Nashville High Rise building you need to alert your people, and if you are my friend in Coffee County stay calm and don’t pace the floor to much but keep your TV and weather radio on. The first half of the day will not be to bad but we will have the wind getting gusty from the south as the day wears on. Missy is going to the Vet to get “fixed” so she’s not going to be having a fun day at all. We know their will be a few days like this every Spring so let’s just prepare and beware. Now for the facts.

No precipitation for the last 24 hours.
Temperature is 50 degrees at 7 AM and headed to 72 for the High. Low tonight of 50 or there about and behind the Storms a High of less than 60 on Friday.

Barometer is 29.75″ and we are still well in advance of the Storms heading our way so we will see some very low pressure and serious instability in the atmosphere today and tonight.

Humidity is only 80% due to a lot of Sun that dried us up yesterday but we will see the Humidity rise on the South wind today and the weather coming in from Texas will bring it’s own moisture with it as well.

Wind is Calm early but Gusty later this morning from the South. Look for strong wind generally today and tonight and stronger in the Thunderstorms.

The Summary for today includes a Special Weather Statement from the NWS in Nashville.
