4/6/2009 @ 7 AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

Well we didn’t get blown away from our Springtime storms but we may all freeze to death tonight and Tuesday night. Just when it was starting to look like we were getting past the freeze danger we have a blast of air from Canada to jog us back to reality. You just can’t argue with the historic data averages, and those all say their is a danger of freezing weather in Middle Tennessee until April 15. And in 1 instance just a couple of years ago even that wasn’t safe. With rain and snow in the forecast for Monday and Tuesday and I hope not to much of either I guess we can take a couple of days off from mowing. It is going to be windy as well with 15 to 25 mph gusts from the Northwest so the windchill will make it feel even colder. It seems to me that the wind has been relentless all Winter and now well into Spring. I’m the kind of guy that likes to have a “hobby” project going of one kind or another all of the time. During the Winter I rebuilt a 62 year old tube type AM radio that had belonged to my Dad and it’s playing this morning on WSM and sounds like a new radio if I did do it myself. Now as the weather warmed up I have been renovating my Radio Control Airplane and it’s ready to fly but certainly not in a 20 mph wind. Oh well there will be plenty of warm calm days ahead I guess. I’m told that Wednesday will see us return to Spring weather and the longer range look at the weekend is Sunny and mild, but we do have two cold days ahead of us. Now for the facts for this Cold Monday morning.

We had no precipitation to report on Sunday morning but we have .09″ this morning.
Temperature at 7 AM is 41 degrees. That is down from the 45 we had at 5:30 and the 50 plus at bedtime last night. Look for temperature to continue to drop during the day. Low tonight of 30 degrees.

Barometer is 29.80″ and Steady now. We may see the pressure rise above 30 inches Tuesday afternoon but until that happens look for wet and cloudy weather.

Humidity is down to 76% this morning but with falling temperatures that is still enough to allow the precipitation to make it all the way to the ground.

Wind is Northwest at 8 mph and getting stronger as the day progresses. Wind chill will be in the 20’s tonight,

Sky is overcast and don’t look for a break before later day on Tuesday.

The summary for today is Cloudy and Colder with periods of light rain and possibly Snow Showers later today and tonight. I don’t expect any accumulation on our relatively warm ground. Freeze warning for all of Middle Tennessee for tonight and Tuesday night. It’s still Spring time this is just a little bump in the road. Have a good day.
