4/25/2009 @ 7 AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

We had a High Temperature of 86 degrees here yesterday. If that was not a record it is at least a honorable mention. I’m not sure what the official record is but I might do some research on that, at the very least we are having a spell of much appreciated warm and dry weather. but let us not get to carried away as all of this heat may lead to problems next week. The Texas Panhandle area and parts of Oklahoma are having a round of Severe Storms today and while we still have several tranquil days ahead, from Tuesday going forward there are Shower and Thunderstorm chances in our Forecast next week. By Wednesday or so if this Heat holds up we will actually need a bit of Rain. I’m expecting that our High Temperatures will drop back into the 70’s by Tuesday but moving back to the Low 80’s by the end of next week. So we will see above average Temps return after a short break mid week. This long range stuff is highly subject to change. We will almost definitely not be able to remain as Stable as we are now as the Heat continues because it’s still early Spring and there is still a lot of Cool air not that far away to the North. But this is a wonderful day and weekend so let’s just enjoy it. Now for the facts.

We did not record any precipitation during the last 24 hours.
Temperature at 7 AM was 57 degrees. Low was about 55 last night. We will go for about 86 again today and 83 on Sunday. Lows tonight and Sunday night around 60. Monday will be yet another 80 degree day.

Barometer is 30.30″ today and Steady now. Watch for a little slip in the pressure toward Monday but not a big drop for a few days.

Humidity is 70% in the cool of the morning but is hanging out in the 40% range during the heat of the day. Not any rain chances for the next couple of days. You can’t say that very often in late April.

Wind is South at 5 mph. Gusty at times today. Don’t look for a shift for several days.

The Summary for the weekend is Hot and Dry and Windy. Highs in the mid 80’s and Lows in the Upper 50’s or Low 60’s. Next week will see a return of Clouds and mid week rain chances. Have a great weekend and I hope to see you in Church on Sunday.
