5/1/2009 @ 7 AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

We can all go skipping around the May Pole today but you will more than likely get wet while you are out there. May came in like a Lion this morning as we had a round of Thunder Showers over night which deposited .68″ in our Rain gauge. For the first time in over a week we had some rain to report, I guess we needed some but we may well get a lot more than we want over the next few days. The NOAA weather alert went off a couple of times here over night with one of the Cells in our line of Thunder Storms looking a bit on the hefty side but I don’t know of anyone having problems. There is still not any wide spread severe weather expected but some of the storms might be close to severe limits and there is a lot of electrical energy in the storms we have seen so far. I’m hearing some lightening in my Antique AM Radio this morning. And my E Mail just rang in a Spotter Update so let’s just print that out here and we can all read it together.

Well scratch what I said about not expecting any wide Spread severe weather. I guess the dynamics of the situation are evolving a bit. Let’s look at the facts.

We reported .68″ of Rain for the last 24 hours. All of which fell after 3 AM this morning.
Temperature at 7 AM is 61 degrees. We may only see 78 for the High with all of these Clouds and Rain. If we get a period of Sun this afternoon it may be slightly warmer in spots. Low tonight of 62 degrees. Saturday about the same.

Barometer is 30.10″ this morning and still very slowly falling. We are keeping a eye on the pressure. We could get some Low readings over the weekend and some back and forth ups and downs as a Front dances around over us.

Humidity is 100% and it is Raining. We have over the last couple of days developed a extremely moist atmosphere which will fuel our expected heavy rain.

Wind is Calm at 7 but picking up quickly from the South. Gusty at times especially in the Thunder Storms.

Sky is Overcast this morning. Stratus and Lower scud. The scud is moving along at a pretty fair clip. Must be windy up about 2000 foot level. We might see a little Sun today but more Clouds than Sun today.

The Summary for today is Cloudy and Warm with scattered showers and Thunder Storms. All of us will see Rain today. Some Storms may be at or above Severe limits this afternoon and tonight. Have your NOAA weather radio on and check the TV weather tonight. We may have a heavy rain event this weekend. Hope you are all well. Also hope my BFF gets thru his Chemo it’s rough for him right now. Have a wet one LOL.
