5/20/2009 @ 7 AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

We are making Hay while the the Sun Shines this morning. A lot of folks have Hay on the ground this morning and a caravan of Tractors and equipment is coming down the road this morning heading out to any number of fields here in Northwest Bedford County. This spell of Fair weather continues unabated for a couple of days at least and then the old 20% chances sneak back in. Our wind and our weather is going to be effected by a Tropical Wave off the East Coast of Florida that is finally giving the Florida Peninsula a much needed break from drought. As these waves of Low pressure move Westward across Florida they are expanding and we get the Counter Clockwise flow and consequently a East or Southeast wind and likely some clouds. This could gives us some showers over the weekend but not a lot to worry about. At the same time a Front well off to the Northwest will try to move this way by next week but it remains to be seen if that will be able to get in here. So Tennessee is in a squeeze between two totally different weather systems. One Canadian and one Tropical. That could be interesting. The plan however is to keep those shower chances to a minimum and have a fine Holiday weekend. Now since I have a couple of acres to mow this morning let’s get to those facts.

We did not report any rain for the last 24 hours.
Temperature at 7 AM was 49 degrees. We had a low of 44 last night much improved from Tuesday morning. Looking for 82 today for the High and down to 52 tonight.

Barometer is strong at 30.35″ this morning. We may fall off that a bit if the Tropical wave down in Florida influences our weather a bit but not looking for any major change for a few days.

Humidity is still running high in the early morning and looks like 95% this morning. We have a lot of dew but that is burning off quickly and we should have good drying conditions for the Hay this afternoon.

Wind is Calm this morning but quickly picking up as we warm up and look for a more East flow. Speeds in the 5 to 10 range.

Sky is Clear and Blue as Blue can be in the still dry air aloft. There are clouds to our south and some of them may try to sneak in here but don’t plan on seeing many.

The Summary for Wednesday is Fair and Warm. Good evening tonight for a Church picnic and as luck would have it we are having one. Fair weather continues on Thursday, not as cool tonight. Have a good day.
