5/23/2009 @ 7 AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

Morning Clouds could be a harbinger of what our weekend is looking like. There are a few light showers around the Western half of the Mid State but not a lot of coverage so far. The pseudo Tropical Low down in the Gulf of Mexico has planted itself mostly over Mobile Bay this morning and we are on the North fringe of it’s cloud and rain bands. Friday we escaped with just a Trace of rain from some occasional sprinkles during the afternoon. Saturday with a ever increasing Humidity level our Rain chances look a bit more likely. Still don’t feel like you need to alter your outdoor plans too much just be flexible. The air is heavy this morning and my doggies were even feeling the need to get back in to the Air Conditioning this morning after a brief stroll and a trip out to re fill the Bird Feeder. My wild birds are consuming a pound of seed a day. The Yellow Finches have gotten organized and are mostly holding off the bigger birds. It’s been fun to watch some of the David vs. Goliath action. We are going to have to deal with occasional periods of Clouds and Shower chances for the next several days and as much as I hate to see it on a Holiday Weekend we could after the last week of Sun, use a shot of Rain. Remember our Troops this weekend, if my Dad was still alive the flag would be Flying from today until Labor Day out on Railroad Avenue. Now since this is supposed to be about the Weather here are the facts for this Memorial Day weekend.

We reported a Trace Amount of Rain to the NWS for the last 24 hours.
Temperature at 7 AM was 64 degrees and Rising quickly to near 80 for a High today. Look for a 64 degree Low tonight. High on Sunday of 78 to 80 depending on the Clouds.

Barometer is 30.10″ and still Slowly falling but not to fast and not to Low. Looking for a period of Unstable weather for the next week. The Low pressure area influencing our weather is well South of Tennessee.

Humidity is 90% this morning. We will see that drop as the day warms up but still looking to run Dew Points well into the 50’s this afternoon and we will see slightly better shower chances as a consequence.

Wind is Calm early but East to Southeast for the most part at 5 to 10 mph is the order of the day. Near some of the Showers you will see the wind vary a bit.

The Sky this morning is mostly cloudy. Looking for clouds and sun. Clouds will become more numerous on Sunday and that looks to be our wettest day this weekend.

The Summary for this weekend is Clouds and Sun with warm temperatures and Rain chances. Thunder Shower chances in the afternoon. Rain chances more likely on Sunday. Still a good chance for Sun and Fun between those Showers. Have a great weekend. I still expect to see you in Church on Sunday.
