6/1/2009 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

Flipping the Calender page once again after a very wet month. May total Precipitation at my house was 10.96″. Fully half of that fell in one day on the night of May 1 and early morning of May 2. The 2nd half of the Month was more normal and the last week was for my house dry and we could even after all that rain use a Shower here. But we won’t get one today. I’m tending to believe that while Rain was the story in May, Heat may be the story for at least early June. And we haven’t even started on our Long Hot Summer that arrives with the Summer Solstice on June 21. With the exception of a bit of Weed eating that will get done in increments that my sore back will allow the mowing chores are caught up for a few days owing to the lack of Rain here last week. The Bird feeding has slacked off a little bit. The babies have grown up I guess and are venturing out a bit so the concentrations are thinning out. With the Heat I guess i better get the Bird Bath on my daily chores list. I really am one of those suckers that is born every minute. The weather today and tomorrow will be Fair and Hot. Rising humidity especially tomorrow and some Shower chances creeping in for mid week and with the heat a Thunder Storm chance as well. Not seeing any big rain makers or Severe Outbreaks but remember some of those Hot Weather Pop Up Storms can get to Severe Limits. The long range for the Weekend looks Sunny but that’s a few days away. Now for the facts for our Monday morning.

We did not report any rain on Sunday or Monday morning.
Temperature at 7 AM was 67 degrees and you had to look quick because it was topping 70 just a couple of minutes later. Headed to 92 here in the Southern Region today and hoping to get down to 62 tonight. More heat on tap for Tuesday. June is the month with the longest Daylight hours of the year and that precedes the big warm up in the atmosphere that we experience as our Hot Summer period.

Barometer is 30.05″ and Rising but not going to rise much more. We do have some Low pressure influence North and West of us that will Slip a front in here Mid Week.

Humidity is 80% this morning and we had some dew but it didn’t last long. Looking for increasing Humidity today and we will be experiencing 60 degree Dew Point by Tuesday.

Wind is Variable in the early morning rising Temperature and was indicating East at 4 mph at 7 AM but the trend will be Southerly to Southwest and maybe 5 to 10 mph.

The Sky is mostly clear this morning and we will have a lot of Sun today with a few Clouds. More Sunny weather ahead for Tuesday with a few more Clouds.

The Summary for today, Hot and Sunny. High of 92 degrees. There are some Air Quality alerts in the Nashville Metro area. We have a good bit of Dust here from everybody Haying this morning. Stay hydrated today. This is a preview of Summer on a late Spring June day.
