6/12/2009 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

Things have settled down this morning except for a few sprinkles here and there. Yesterday was rough in spots and just about everybody got a shot of Rain for their lawns. A lot of tree damage scattered around Bedford County and a few spotty Power Outages. The Lightening was zeroing in on us but we escaped without any hits. I’ve had two trees hit this Spring. Our Thunderstorm chances remain today in spite of the break and once the Sun gets up higher and the day heats up we will just have to see what develops. Our Humidity is still high and the Surface Weather Map shows an abundance of Low Pressure areas scattered around the Southern half of the United States. Looks like a more or less Cloudy weekend with Showers on and off. We don’t see a break in our current pattern before the mid week upcoming. Summer is 9 days off and it’s looking like we will have some more 90 degree plus weather just prior to the official Summer Solstice. Outdoors this morning is damp from overnight rain. We don’t have to water any plants this morning. The grass has quickly shown it’s appreciation for the rain and soon it will be time to start another round of mowing. I haven’t done any real mowing since Monday but if you get behind around here you have your hands full. We still haven’t had a lot of Mosquito’s this year but plenty of Chiggers. The bug population is on the rise especially since the nights have warmed up. My motion detector lights come on when I go out in the evening and draws the bugs and then the lights won’t go out. I still have not seen any June Bugs this year, I guess if they run much later we’ll call them July bugs. Anyway other than a lot of Clouds and Rain from time to time our weather pattern is stuck for a few days. We were anticipating this week to be wet with Bonnaroo and the CMA festival. Now for the facts.

We reported .55 inches of Rain. Some folks had a lot more and more is on the way.
Temperature at 7 AM is 70 degrees. Headed up to 88 and down to 65 tonight. Look for about the same on Saturday. By mid week upcoming we are seeing 90’s for Highs.

Barometer is 29.90″ and has Risen a bit but not going to rise much more. We have numerous Low pressure areas hovering around various parts of the South.

Humidity is 95% and Dew point is 68 degrees. That’s a tad less than yesterday morning but still uncomfortable and still enough to fuel Thunderstorms.

Wind is West this morning at 2 mph. Look for 5 to 10 and gusty around the Showers. Direction varies a bit depending on the current location of numerous pockets of Low Pressure. But still generally South and West.

Sky is Mostly Cloudy this morning. Look for a mixture of Sun and Clouds but more Clouds especially this afternoon.

The Summary for Friday morning is Hot and Humid with good chances of Showers and Thunderstorms at just about anytime but more numerous this afternoon and tonight. Not a great forecast but this time last year we were burnt up and dried out and in the grip of a Drought. What a difference. Things sure are green this year. Have a great day anyway.
