7/1/2009 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

Well this year is officially half gone, my how time flies. We have had another shot of cool air that infiltrated the State over night and a few county’s had some showers that popped up but they were small and nothing made it into the Southern Region. Our lower Humidity will be even lower today and the High temperature may stay in the upper 80’s. We hit 91 degrees here yesterday and I was on “Big Red” for about 3 hours and even with low Humidity hot is still hot. Got about 3 more hours to do today and then we can put “Red” up for a while if it doesn’t rain some. The NWS has put some 20% shower chances in the Forecast for the next several days and better chances for the weekend so maybe we will get a little bit of Rain at some point. Still for all the outdoor activity that is scheduled I don’t see any real problems except the cooler nights are knocking back the Swimming Pool temperatures. But it’s still all good. My friend Tommy is still in Centennial Medical Center recovering from a double shot of Surgery and I guess my birthday dinner at Red Lobster will have to wait this year. I’d give that up just to have him home this year. My B’day is July 6, and until I was 7 years old I thought we had the Big Cookout and shot those Fireworks because it was my birthday. Little did I know….We didn’t encounter much wildlife this morning except the birds were singing a bit more cheerfully in the cooler morning and a Woodpecker was banging away out back somewhere.
Now I’ve rambled long enough and taken up enough of your time, here are the Sunny facts for this Wednesday morning.

We have not reported any precipitation for the last 24 hours. We’ve had only .10″ since June 18 and it took 3 separate reporting periods to get that.
Temperature at 7 AM is 72 degrees. Many areas just to our North are in the 60’s even at this hour. We are headed up to 88 for a High today after a Low of 65 over night. The Low tonight should be about 63. That is a shade below normal in the first week of July.

Barometer is 29.80″ and Steady. Not much action from the old Barometer for the last couple of weeks.

Humidity is 70% but falling in the Heating of the day. The air will be dry today but after today gradually increasing Humidity and shower chances.

Wind is actually blowing this morning after a string of Calm mornings. North at 2 mph. That will pick up speed today and be breezy again today. 15 to 20 mph possible at times.

Sky is Clear this morning. Look for a few clouds today but not a big build up. More clouds in the daytime as the week wears on.

The Summary for today, Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. West northwest wind between 5 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Cool tonight with a Low about 63 degrees. Good sleeping weather, that’s hard to come by in July. Have a good day.
