7/11/2009 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

We had a Trace “That’s weather man speak for a few sprinkles” here in the County yesterday afternoon and a better chance of a real shower today. In fact let’s get the NWS deal out of the way right now.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR MIDDLE TENNESSEE..DAY ONE…TODAY AND TONIGHT A COLD FRONT WILL MOVE SOUTHWARD THROUGH THE OHIO VALLEY TOWARD MIDDLE TENNESSEE TODAY AND TONIGHT, BRINGING ISOLATED TO SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS MUCH OF THE MID STATE. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT A FEW OF THESE STORMS COULD REACH SEVERE LEVELS, ESPECIALLY IN AREAS NORTH OF INTERSTATE 40..DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY THE CHANCE OF STORMS WILL GREATLY INCREASE ON SUNDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT AS THE COLD FRONT MOVES INTO THE MID STATE. ALL OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE IS UNDER A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE WEATHER, WITH THE PRIMARY THREATS BEING DAMAGING WIND AND LARGE HAIL..SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT…SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGER ACTIVATION MAY BE NEEDED THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING, AND ESPECIALLY ON SUNDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT.

Sounds a little bit like some of our early Spring weather events, but since it’s Summer time this whole deal tends to move more slowly and takes more time to play out. Some folks may get a significant amount of Rain and I hope Bedford County and Coffee County and a few folks to our south as well get to join in on this. We had a slightly warmer night and we are off to a Hot start but with more Clouds and perhaps a Thunder Shower here and there we may not get to that 92 degree High we had briefly yesterday. We peaked a 92 before our Afternoon Cloud buildup. We have better chances for Showers on Sunday and then slight chances for several days next week, also Hot temps next week. Outside this morning I met who must have been the Granddaddy of all these Bunnies we have here. He was as big as a Groundhog and the old geezer had to stare me and the Doggies down, because he was to fat to run away. Even old Benji gave him the respect I guess he deserves because he let Mr Rabbit just walk away without so much as a Woof. I need to get on with things today my fingers are sore. For my Diabetes friends out there,” avoid the Premium Priced Green Accu Check Lancets. They Hurt! Use the White cheapos. ” Now for the weekend facts.

We had a Trace of Rain yesterday afternoon. Not much, and just a Trace for the Report. I was sitting outside when it fell and I never actually felt the need to go inside. The breeze was cooler for about a hour however.
Temperature at 7AM was 70 degrees and Rising. We could hit 92 today but may be restricted to high 80’s depending on the Cloud cover. Low tonight of 68 and then about 90 or slightly less on Sunday. Look for 90 plus most everyday next week.

Barometer is 30.20″ and that’s all good. We may see a drop as the mid west front slips in but the stable higher pressure may keep the Severe Weather chances down. However you might want to watch your Barometer over the weekend because that could fall back rather quickly.

Humidity is 80% this morning. Rising Dew Points into the 70’s next couple of days.

Wind is actually blowing at 7 AM for a change. South East at 5 mph. Look for 5 to 10 mph today and stronger near any showers you luck up on.

Sky is Clear early, but there is weather on the Radar to our Northwest. Clouds today are likely to be more prevalent but plenty of Sun this morning.

The Summary for the weekend. Today: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a high near 90. Southerly wind around 10 mph. Tonight: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 70. Southerly wind around 5 mph becoming calm late. Sunday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a high near 88. Watch out for the Thunderstorms but we really need some Rain. Looking for you in Church on Sunday. Have a great weekend.
