7/14/2009 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

Today is a good day for growing things. The soil is moist and the Sun is fired up to 100% illumination. Frequently predicting the Weather can be a inexact science and today I must confess I have missed it. We likely will not be seeing those mid 90 degree temperature’s I thought we would see. Wednesday however should be about 93 or so. The Summer season usually sees a slowing down of air masses and the current one has decided to slow down even more than I would have expected. Everything is just running a day later than originally predicted. Winds today will trend from Northerly to a more East direction and ultimately by the time the Sun gets going on Wednesday I think we will have a generally Southerly wind. Thus the warmer Temperature’s and the Humidity and the associated Rain chances will return. Thursday looks to be our best shot at rain this week. The great outdoors is calm and by all indications the doldrums of Dog Days have set in. The Bunny Rabbits were even on the down low this morning. I did see a Deer venture out of the woods last evening but just a few feet from the tree line and she was very cautious. They have nothing to fear as long as they stay on my property. After the weather starts to cool off and we get into fall I have a spot along the tree line where I put out some Mineral Blocks and a few treats for the Deer Herd. We are or rather I am Dog Sitting for my Niece and her Husband while they are off to New Hampshire this week. Jessy is a 8 month old Miniature Dachshund and Missy is sleeping real good at night after having a active playmate all day long. Benji just finds himself a corner and stays out of their way. Jessy doesn’t have the appreciation for the outdoors as much as my guys but we try to drag her along anyway. The plus for us is Missy has gotten a bit on the heavy side and Jessy is running some of that off her. Now since this is supposed to be a weather blog, here are the facts for our Sunny Summer Dog Day Tuesday morning.

We did not report any Rain for the last 24 hours.
Temperature at 7 AM was 70 degrees. That’s our average 7 O’clock temp this time of year. Look for 89 or 90 degrees for the High today. Low tonight about 66.

Barometer is 30.10″ and steady. No big moves today. Still no strong Summer High pressure set up yet. No sign of the “Bermuda High” that we usually see in July and no Tropical activity in the Gulf or the Atlantic region…yet.

Humidity is 90% but burning off. Look for a rise on Wednesday.

Wind is NE and trending East and then Southeast by this time on Wednesday.

Sky is Clear this morning. Mostly Sunny today with a few Fair Weather Cumulus Clouds.

The Summary today. Sunny, with a high near 89. Calm wind becoming east northeast around 5 mph.Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm late.Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 93. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph. That’s all we got for today. Have a good day.
