7/27/2009 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

There is certainly no shortage of Humidity this morning. The mist is hanging in the air like a curtain. Our weekend was about as expected with Sun and Clouds and occasional Rain showers. I don’t think the rain messed up anybodies plans however and we still don’t intend to complain about Rain in July. Sunday morning we reported .04″ and this Monday morning we are reporting .40″. That gives us 4.44 inches total to date for July and with 5 days to go we have very good chances for a good deal more. They say you have to make Hay while the Sun shines, well trust me, you really make Hay when it Rains. Unless it Rains too much, but that’s another problem for another day. Today will be a mixture of Clouds and Sun with warm but not overly Hot temperatures and some Rain Shower chances this afternoon and evening. We have increasing shower chances through the week and the Weather Service Office in Nashville is posting a Notice of Heavy Rain possible this week. Our trip outdoors is on the damp side this morning with no encounters with any wildlife except one pesky Bunny Rabbit. My little Missy was trying to lick the mist that was in the air. She apparently hasn’t seen much Fog in her short life. We didn’t venture to far in that damp air since I’m sore and kind of hurting this morning. I could really use a massage, the legitimate kind, but a cute Nurse couldn’t hurt either. Now before I get into any trouble here are the facts on this damp Foggy Monday late July morning.

We reported .04″ of Rain Sunday morning and .40″ this morning.
Temperature is 70 degrees. Heading up to about 90 degrees if the Clouds pull back a little. And tonight with Clouds and Rain possibly in the area we could see a Low of 66 degrees. Tuesday may be slightly cooler with certainly more Clouds and Better Rain chances.

Barometer is 30.00″ this morning. We are Currently on the North side of a wavering Cold front. As that front moves back over us Pressure will Rise and Fall from time to time. We are likely to see this Unsettled Condition persist for several days.

Humidity is 100%. At saturation point the air cannot hold any more moisture and the water is literally hanging in front of your eyes this morning. Some of that will burn off as the Sun warms us up. But the Humidity and associated Dew Point will remain on the High side for a few days.

Wind is Calm this morning. Look for a generally West or Northwest Wind depending on just where that Front is sitting at any given time. About 5 mph. Wind speed will be generally not a factor except gusty in or near a possible Shower.

Sky is Foggy this morning. Look for Fog and Clouds and some Sun first half of the day and then Sun and Clouds this afternoon. More Clouds tonight.

The Summary for today. A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 90. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph.Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. West northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm.Tuesday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 88. That’s about the best we can do. This damp weather is a bit unusual for late July but it is sure making the grass grow. Have a good day.
