7/28/2009 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

July is winding down and it looks like we have a wet end to the month. That’s a bit unusual for this part of the country. This year has been on the wetter side with a few brief dry spells that after the drought of the last couple of years made us nervous but none the less ended quickly with abundant rain. The Radar is indicating a large area of Rain and light Thunder Showers to our West just now crossing the Tennessee River. My 60 year old Restored Tube AM Radio is beginning to pick up some Lightening Static. We have a few Clouds at observation time but you can see more on the Western horizon. Temperature’s may only get into the upper 80’s today as we look to have more Clouds and excellent Rain chances. Wind is South and running 4 mph even very early this morning. So far not much of our inbound weather has a history of being Severe and we don’t have any upper wind shear to spin up any real bad weather but in this humid environment and with our warm temperatures some of the Thunder Showers could be heavy and have a lot of Lightening. I saw on the news again yesterday a report that shows that people this year are still demonstrating a desire to be killed by Lightening. The outdoor scene was rather dull this morning and we didn’t even see a Bunny Rabbit. The Cows in the Field next door are strolling in from the more distant grazing land and heading for the Barns and Tree line. They may be Cows but they aren’t stupid and they know the weather is changing quickly this morning. And I guess they don’t have much choice but to take their chances with the Lightening. Now for the facts for this soon to be wet late July Tuesday morning.

We did not report any rain for the last 24 hours.
Temperature at 7 AM was 70 degrees. Look for a High of only 85 or so with Clouds and Rain. Low tonight with possible evening storms about 70 degrees.

Barometer has fallen to 29.95″ and may fall some more as a area of Rain is fast approaching from the West. We will be unstable for several days.

Humidity is 95% and Dew Point is 69 this morning. That Dew Point is going to rise into the 70’s today as we have strong Rain Chances today.

Wind is South at 4 mph. Look for Southerly at 5 to 10 for next few days and gusty in and around the Showers.

Sky is Partly Cloudy and Increasing Clouds from the West. Look for Cloudy today and tonight and Wednesday.

The Summary for today. Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 85. Calm wind becoming south between 5 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms. Low around 70. South wind between 5 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.Wednesday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. Southerly wind between 5 and 10 mph. Outdoor work gets a break today and maybe for a few days. Have a good one.
