8/4/2009 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

We are on the lookout for a fairly good likelihood of Rain Showers and Thunder Storms today and into this evening. We have enough instability to generate some Severe Thunderstorms with Hail and Damaging Winds so keep the NOAA Weather Radio tuned in. Yesterday went about as planned but we did have to report a Trace Amount of Rain from some Sprinkles here at 2:30 Monday afternoon. If I hadn’t been outdoors I would have never seen them but since I did I am reporting them. You have to have some Ethics about these things. The National and Local News shows were reporting the July Weather Summaries yesterday and everyone is all a Buzz about the weather acting kinda screwy. I noticed that weeks ago if you are a regular reader. The relatively cooler Sea Water Temperatures and tranquil Tropics regions combined with or possibly contributing to the absence of our normal “Bermuda High” pressure set up has resulted in a lot of Cool Canadian air dropping into the Eastern Half of the United States. Some areas of the Eastern Seaboard have essentially not had any Summer yet. There is still time however for that to change. If the Gulf of Mexico is going to heat up it will do so around the end of this month. We frequently have our most active Hurricane scenarios around Labor Day. The Government doesn’t pay me the Big Bucks but my opinion and a couple of Bucks will get you a Glass of Iced Tea most anywhere. Now for today’s facts.

We reported a Trace Amount of Rain for the last 24 hours.
Temperature at 7 AM is 71 degrees. That’s a shade warmer than we have been averaging. Headed to 90 or 92 today depending on the timing of Clouds and Rain. Low tonight of 68.

Barometer is 30.00″ and Steady. Looking for a bit of a drop today.

Humidity is 90% and it’s going to be a muggy day with Dew Points in the 70’s.

Wind is SE at 2 mph early and trending towards the Southwest later today. 5 to 10 mph and gusty in the Showers and Thunder storms.

Sky is Clear at 7 AM but Clouds on the way. Clouds and Sun today.

The Summary for today. A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 10am. Partly cloudy, with a high near 92. Calm wind becoming west southwest between 5 and 10 mph.Tonight: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Wednesday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 90. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Some of those Thunder Storms can be Strong today. Have a good day.
