8/5/2009 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

We had a bit of Wind last night but it was brief and I only clocked 22 to 25 mph with 1 30 mph gust. The Rain looked impressive on the Radar and after seeing the reports of Louisville’s 6 inches in a hour I was prepared to see it Rain a ton. We only had .27″ here. We may have some minor shower chances today and certainly a good deal of Cloudiness. Then….a few days of Sun and Heat. We should dry out nicely over the next few days with lots of Sun and lower humidity. The wind will trend toward the West and then North by Thursday morning. The Storms from last night ended for the most part before bedtime and after it was over we had a peaceful night. There was no reported damage here in Bedford County last night and no Warnings were issued for us specifically. My little dog Missy didn’t care much for the Thunder but she inspected everything this morning and was satisfied that except for a bit of outdoor furniture turned over everything survived the night. I think it would be a “Good Thing” if we had a few days of dry weather. After some shower chances today I think we will have a few genuine Summer Days. Now for the facts.

We reported .27″ of Rain that fell last evening during about a 1 hour period.
Temperature at 7 AM is 66 degrees. We had a cooler night as a result of Evaporational Cooling from the Rain. As we get a bit into August we can expect to see more 68’s and 9’s replacing those 70 readings at 7 AM. Summer is passing the peak, but we still have our share of Hot days to go. Look for a High about 87 today and then a Low of 68 overnight.

Barometer has rebounded to 30.05″ this morning. It would be nice to see that Rise a bit over the next couple of days. But likely not a Big move.

Humidity is 98% and will be High today but then drying out for a few days.

Wind is Calm early but trending West and then North for a couple of days anyway.

Sky is Partly Cloudy today and tonight. Sunny next couple of days.

The Summary. Today: Some showers and thunderstorms possible, mainly before 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 87. South southwest wind around 5 mph becoming west northwest. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Tonight: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1am. Patchy fog after 3am. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 68. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph. There you have it. We can stand a few days of Fair and Warm weather. Hope you have a good day.
