8/8/2009 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

The heat is building early this morning after a warm and muggy night. It looks like our moderately High Pressure is firmly in control of the Southeast this morning. The Great Lakes and upper Mid West has all the stormy weather today. We will almost certainly get up to our Forecast High of 95 degrees. The Humidity is also firmly entrenched and we will have to deal with the heavy air that meets you at the doorway. It is not a good day for exerting yourself in the outdoors today. My mower is in the shop until Monday and I need to do some weed eating but I’m not going to have a myocardial infarction because of a few weeds. The strong Barometer will hold down the shower chances in spite of the heat and humidity. Sunday will most likely see some relaxing of the pressure and we will enter a period of several days of 20 to 30 percent shower chances. So I said all that to say this, take a break today and enjoy the weekend. I’ve got readers heading into the Tropics this weekend and a couple of friends on the Water in the Bahamas. The tropics are calm except for a little disturbance in the Bahamas, so Chuckie you go 75,000 square miles of Ocean to play in and you chose the Rainy place. Not looking for any Tropical development for at least the next few days. Now lets look at the facts for Middle Tennessee.

No Rain to report for the last 24 hours.
Temperature was 71 degrees at 7 AM and Rising quickly. Headed to 95 or maybe a bit more. Warm tonight and then maybe 93 or so on Sunday with a few more Clouds.

Barometer is 30.15″. We moved up a bit from that yesterday and then fell back some last night. We are Rising again this morning. Still it’s about as High as it’s going to get. This is about as good as it’s been all Summer.

Humidity is 98% and really in your face this morning. It’s typical for August however. Look for High Dew Points thru the weekend.

Wind is Calm early but will be Southeast at 5 to 10 mph. Same on Sunday.

Sky is Clear and look for Sunny skies with a few clouds all weekend. Sunday likely to have more Clouds than Saturday but still more Sun than Clouds all weekend.

The Summary for the weekend. Today: Sunny, with a high near 95. Calm wind becoming south southwest between 5 and 10 mph. Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Partly cloudy, with a high near 92. Calm wind becoming south between 5 and 10 mph. Monday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 90. Calm wind becoming south southwest between 5 and 10 mph. That’s a fairly typical August weekend. Stay hydrated and try to do some serious relaxing this weekend. Looking to see you in Church on Sunday, and Chuckie…don’t get run over by a Cruise ship. LOL
