8/12/2009 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

We have .58 in the Rain Bucket this morning. That raises the August total to 1.22 inches. We have our 3rd Foggy morning for the month. We’ve had a few other misty mornings but the really Foggy ones are the ones we count. It appears from the Satellite picture that the Front has passed through. The wind is calm but should be North once the day gets cranked up. Dog Days have ended and possibly right on schedule as we may not get out of the 80’s today. We should be back in the 90’s on Friday and back into some slight Shower chances by Saturday. Hopefully we can catch a few dry days before it Rains again. The outdoor scene was dead this morning. So foggy the Birds are walking and didn’t even see a Bunny Rabbit. There is a Tropical Depression in the Atlantic this morning off the coast of Africa. This is labeled as #2 for the season. It’s not looking too favorable for development but if it becomes a Hurricane it will be named Anna. That’s not looking to likely however. The NOAA website has a report Dated June of this year saying Ocean Temperatures are the warmest on record. But, I beg to differ. As of yesterday the Gulf of Mexico off the Coast of Florida at Bay County and Panama City was only 86 degrees. That’s OK for a day at the beach but still a ways to go for serious Hurricane development. Having said all that I will caution that the 86 degrees is about average for the 1st week of August and it could Rise 3 or 4 degrees before Labor Day. So it’s not too late yet for some Tropical Action. Now lets look at the facts.

Rainfall for the last 24 hours was .58″.
Temperature at 7AM was 69 degrees and headed to 88 or so. Low tonight under Clear sky with a North wind could be a cool 64 or so.

Barometer is 30.05 and Steady for the moment. No big moves expected but the pressure should rise a little.

Humidity is 95% and hopefully will burn off by 10 AM or so. Maybe a little drier today and Thursday.

Wind is going to be North once it finally gets going.

Sky is Foggy but should be partly cloudy by afternoon and Sunny Thursday and Friday.

The Summary. Today, Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a high near 88. Calm wind becoming north between 5 and 10 mph. Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 64. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 89. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph. That’s mild for early August. A lot of grass needs mowing but it’s way too wet right now. Have a good day.
