8/19/2009 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

Wet and Cloudy with a lot of Humidity is on tap again today. Outdoors feels more like Beach side in Florida instead of rural Tennessee. There will be periods of Thunder Showers developing today spawned from the nearly stationary remnants of Tropical Storm Claudette. This all will eventually be swept away Thursday as a Front comes in from the mid west that will possibly create a round of Stronger Thunderstorms. Thursday and Thursday evening could see some fairly active weather so we will be prepared to keep a eye on that. The week end still looks to be dry. On the High Seas Cat 4 Hurricane Bill is still churning away. The great hope is this monster could thread the needle between the South East Coast and Bermuda and then curve North East and head into the North Atlantic and blow itself out on the cooler water. That’s looking like a great plan for the time being but a little jog either way and this thing could do a lot of damage. Bill is still a threat to shipping interest in what is a busy corridor for ship traffic. Ships are usually safer from Hurricanes when they are on the open water but still a Cat 4 is a lot of storm and Nobody wants to ride one of those out. You get out of the way. The Spanish Treasure Ships learned that a long time ago. It has rained lightly here yesterday on several occasions but no heavy showers. We only had .18″ in the gauge. My little Spider on the front deck tried to put up his web last night but by 10 PM he had given up. Now lets get to the facts.

We reported .18″ of rain for the last 24 hours.
Temperature at 7 AM was 70 degrees. It felt more like 75 however. We might get up to 88 for the High as we have some chances for some Sun today between the Showers. Look for a Low of 70 tonight.

Barometer is 30.05″ and falling slowly. Look for unstable conditions for the next 36 hours. Then a rebound for Friday and the Weekend.

Humidity is 98% and our air is very nearly saturated. Very rough time outdoors for folks with breathing problems. This will persist until Friday.

Wind is SE at 4 mph. Look for 5 to 10 mph again today. Gusty in some of the stronger showers.

Sky is Partly Cloudy this morning and we will see some Sun but more Clouds than Sun. The Sun will only aggravate the Humid conditions.

The Summary for Today. Showers and thunderstorms likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 88. South southeast wind between 5 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Tonight: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. South wind between 5 and 10 mph. Thursday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. South southwest wind between 5 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Thursday could see a round of Severe Weather so keep a eye on that. No outdoor chores again today. LOL
