8/21/2009 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

If you are tired of all this rainy weather your ship is coming in today. Clear skies and dry air is invading Tennessee this morning and will yield a Sunny mild weekend. Swimming pools are likely cold as a Dill Pickle but you can’t have everything. The forecast looks dry until at least next Thursday unless something blows up again in the Gulf of Mexico. The Gulf appears to be calm for the moment and we will have a ton of work to do here over the the next week so I hope everything holds up….Out in the Atlantic Hurricane Bill has weakened to a Cat3 and appears to be steering the course the Forecasters have set for him. Bermuda will dodge a big one and everyone with interest on the East Coast will as well. There will be a lot of high surf and rough tidal conditions this weekend….We here in rural Bedford County can expect Slowly clearing sky and mild temperatures of about 86 degrees today. Just the ever so slight chance of a isolated shower as we clear off for a dry weekend. Low tonight with the drier air will be a cool 62 degrees or so. Highs this weekend will stay in the very low 80’s and lows in the very high 50’s in some spots. This sort of feels like Fall but Summer isn’t over yet. On the outdoors scene the Deer were grazing along the Tree line out back this morning. They were running a little late and I was up a little early. The Bunny Rabbits are not as active as they were but we still see a few regularly. My Spider friend on the front deck has thinned out the flying insects to a noticeable degree. He spins his web every evening and hangs out looking for whatever is unfortunate enough to come along. He had a good collection in his web last night, but was gone this morning as usual. Now lets look at the facts.

We reported .14″ of Rain. Not a lot but we’ve had Rain everyday this week. Some folks got a good deal more.
Temperature at 7 AM was 70 degrees. Look for 85 today and 62 tonight. Weekend looks to be below normal temperature wise.

Barometer is 29.95″ but Rising now. We should reach Stable pressure and have several days of dry weather.

Humidity is 95% this morning but we will be drying out. Dew points will be very low thru the weekend.

Wind is Southwest at 4 mph this morning. Look for gentle winds and a trend towards the Northwest at some point over the next 24 hours or so.

Sky is mostly cloudy this morning but Slowly clearing during today and this evening. We had a ton of moisture in here and it takes a while to sweep it all away.

The Summary. Today: Mostly cloudy but slowly clearing, with a high near 85. West southwest wind around 10 mph. Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 62. West southwest wind between 5 and 10 mph becoming calm. Saturday: Partly cloudy, with a high near 80. Calm wind becoming northwest between 5 and 10 mph. So it’s time to get over the rainy day blues and look for some blue sky. Have a good day.
