8/28/2009 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

Well after two hectic days, which were Mostly Sunny by the way, we now look like we have a Cloudy Rainy day for our Friday. The next couple of days will see rain showers and clouds but still some periods of Sun. Sunday clearing will usher in a few mild late Summer days and dry weather. We had Showers in the area last night and a good deal of Lightening but only some light rain amounting to about.02″ here early this morning. The doggies and I did get to take a stroll this morning and it was uneventful except my little Missy has a very perceptive Nose and she was trailing something that had wandered all over the yard and front deck. I’m thinking Raccoon or Possum but I’m not sure which because we have a lot of both. We also have a occasional Skunk so we have to start being careful at night starting about this time of year. I plan a day full of Resting and thankfully the yard is in fair enough shape that maybe we can wait until Monday. It’s going to be wet anyway I believe. Now let’s look at those facts.

We reported .02″ of Rain which fell I guess just before 7 AM since the ground is barely wet but it was drizzling when we were out and that .02 was just sliding down the measuring tube in the old Rain Gauge.
Temperature at 7 AM is 69 degrees. That’s about normal for late August. We will likely not exceed 85 for the High today and that’s about 3 or 4 degrees below normal High.

Barometer is 30.00″ and Steady now. It has fallen some in the last 24 hours and may fall some more today. Look for a rebound on Sunday.

Humidity is 97% and it’s raining lightly at 7 AM. Look for a damp 48 hours or so. Dew points will be in the 60’s but still not to uncomfortable with mid 80’s for Air temperatures.

Wind is East Southeast and trending Southeast at about 2 mph this morning. Not a lot of wind expected today.

Sky is Cloudy and will remain Mostly Cloudy today with some Sunny breaks.

Tropical Storm Danny is not very organized but still Rainy and pushing toward New England for the weekend. Hopefully no one will manage to get swept away and drowned but people do dumb stuff every day. Out in the Atlantic a new patch of Clouds could be the next storm for us to keep a eye on. It’s still just off the African coast right now.

The Summary, Today: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 85. Calm wind becoming south southwest around 5 mph. Tonight: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. South southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Saturday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 85. That’s about it for this morning. Try to stay away from people, especially sick people and Wash your Hands. There are a lot of Sick kids out there and us old folks will be next. Have a good day,
