8/29/2009 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

We have a lot of Clouds this morning but if the Satellite Picture can be believed there is not a lot of Rain Chances today. More dry air is creeping in from the Northwest and while there is still a chance for some narrow waves of Shower activity to pass over us in the Southern region of Middle Tennessee, it isn’t really enough to worry about. Yesterday was as predicted a mixture of Clouds and Sun with a few people getting some showers but many of us did not. Still the occasional pocket of Rain amounted to over a inch in places. We just reported .01″ here. The air conditioning is getting a rare break here in late August. This has been truly a strange Summer. Outdoors this morning I’m seeing some signs of Leaves on some of the Trees starting to lose their color. Could we be in for a early Fall? If so the Winter may not be far behind. I’m still not ready to give up on Summer. Labor day is over a week away. There wasn’t a sign of any mobile wildlife on our trail this morning but we saw the evidence of some critters having been around. I had to call Missy away from her more “curious” examinations. She’s had her shots but I’m not one for taking a lot of chances. Anyway, it’s more than obvious that we are winding down Summer for 2009. So far this year we’ve seen it all. From 7″ deep drifting Snow, “still got the picture of Karla”, to Tornado’s overhead and passing through Murfreesboro, to record Heavy Rains, a much feared Dry Spell, and then a Cool Wet Summer period to date. What’s next? I’m glad we have all that documented. Oh well, we’ll just have to wait and watch for what’s next. Now let’s look at those facts.

We reported .01″ of Rain for the last 24 hours.
Temperature at 7AM was 69 degrees. Look for a High of only 85 degrees and a Cool 60 degrees overnight. If you go out tonight take a jacket, it’s getting that time of year.

Barometer is 29.90″ and Falling. We may see that start back up at least a bit later today.

Humidity is 95% early but will be dropping a good bit later today.

Wind has Shifted West and headed Northwest. We were calm early but ticking a steady 3 mph now.

Sky is Cloudy this morning. There is a clearing line to our West. We should still see the Sun today, along with Clouds.

The Summary, Today: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 85. Calm wind becoming west northwest between 5 and 10 mph.Tonight: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 60. North northwest wind around 5 mph.Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph.Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 56. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm.Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 77. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph. …..Monday looks like a “Chamber of Commerce Day”, that’s good we’ll have a Hundred Thousand Visitors in Town. Have a good weekend, looking for you in Church on Sunday.
