9/24/2009 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

I’m seeing a patch of Blue Sky this morning but don’t get your hopes up yet. The Long awaited Cold Front that will push this Tropical Air out of here is on our Western Horizon. This Front is not a fast mover and is going to create a boundary that will kick off some Thunder Storms and more Rain showers for a couple of days. However, by late day Saturday, perhaps even mid day Saturday, this wet weather should move out and we begin 3 or 4 days of Fair Weather. We are long past due for a break in the weather. Also, since it’s now Officially Fall this Cold Front will even cool us off a bit for a few days. But don’t expect any really cool air yet. So…..the pre summary is endure a couple more days of wet weather with the expectation of a Sunny Sunday and Fair Weather for the beginning of next week. The outdoors scene is a sad sight again this morning. The lawn is a mess, mud in places that shouldn’t be muddy in September and generally a smelly moldy miniature disaster area. The extremes of wet and dry have created constant turmoil in my micro environment on the Puppy Dog Trail. I’m hoping we can stabilize a bit this Fall before we get into Winter. The County did take pity on me and cut some weeds along the roadway frontage yesterday. That’s the 2nd time they been by here this year. Poor guy was mowing in the Rain, and glad to have a job I guess. Now lets get to the facts.

We reported .05″ of Rain. That’s 10 days in a row and 16 out of 24 with nearly a week left in September. That’s wet even by Seattle Washington standards.
Temperature at 7 AM is 67 degrees. Looking for 80 High and 67 Low today. Warmer on Friday.

Barometer is 30.10″ and steady now but look for a Fall as the Front approaches. I’m hoping for a good Rise next week but we haven’t had much Strong High Barometric Pressure in several months.

Humidity is STILL 100%.

Wind is Southeast at 2 mph this morning. We may see a Shift to a Northwest to Southwest pattern as the Front moves in. Also, some of the Thunder Storms may have gusty winds.

Sky is Partly Cloudy briefly this morning. Look for more Clouds this afternoon.

The Summary, Today: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. Calm wind becoming north northwest around 5 mph. Tonight: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy, with a low around 67. Calm wind. Friday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy, with a high near 83. Calm wind becoming west southwest around 5 mph. Don’t give up hope, Sunshine and Fair skies are out there somewhere.
