9/29/2009 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

Blue Sky and Cool Fall Morning temperatures are giving way to a Sunny Day and more dry weather. It looks like we will have another breezy day but not as windy as yesterday. That wind aided in the drying process and today coupled with the lower humidity we will continue to make some progress in returning to normalcy and getting on with the Fall seasonal chores and recovering from two weeks of Rain and flooding. It looks like we are going to end September with 9.45″ of Rain for the monthly total. Some people in our area had 20 inches in some very localized spots. Rain fall is quirky and actually even though it’s the 21st Century we are just now really getting around to studying it. We had a Low last night of 42 degrees here in rural Northwest Bedford county. I am looking for a High today of 70 degrees. Some places may only get about 69. Tonight will be cooler still and we should be around 39 at sunrise, which is when we usually see our over night Low. I’m still not going to be surprised if we get our first Frost before October 20. Now while the Sun is shining and the grass is drying I need to get ready to do some work so here are the facts.

We did not report any Rain for the last 24 hours.
Temperature at 7 AM is 45 degrees after a 42 degree over night Low. Look for 70 for the High today and 39 for the Low tonight.

Barometer is 30.05″ and Steady. That is kind of anemic for a High Pressure but it’s all we got and at least it has pushed out the wet weather. Our Highs haven’t been nearly as High since we got involved in this El Nino weather pattern.

Humidity is 93% early with a hefty dew load on the ground but that is burning off quickly and we will see that humidity down in the 60’s today.

Wind is Calm early but will be West to Northwest in the 5 to 15 mph range.

Sky is Clear and Deep Blue in the dry air.

The Summary, Today: Sunny, with a high near 70. Northwest wind between 5 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Tonight: Clear, with a low around 39. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 75. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph. Have a great day.
