12/16/2009 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

A Cold start today but Clearing and maybe a High of 46 this afternoon. Clear and 25 over night. The North Wind blows about 5 mph throughout the period. Seasonal temps. and dry until Saturday and then some Snow..maybe. The long range forecast looking towards Christmas has some Rain and Snow mix chances leading up to Christmas day so there is a chance of Snow for Christmas. From a statistics perspective there is generally a 13% chance of a White Christmas on any given year here in Middle Tennessee. That’s all still over a week away so it will be sometime over the weekend before we can get a real handle on the Christmas Weather. The Outdoors here today is Cold and feels more so from the dreaded North Wind that blew about 4 mph all night. The dogs didn’t have much desire to tough it out today and we conceded the trail to the cold weather. We are feeding a few pairs of Red Cardinals and plenty of Blackbirds. Everybody has to eat. Now for those chilly facts.

No Rain for the last 24 hours even though it looked and felt like it was going to Snow yesterday afternoon.
Temp.26deg. and we go up to the mid 40’s today and down to the mid 20’s tonight. That’s close to the average for this time of year.

Bar.30.45″ and Steady. We are influenced by a High just to our North giving us stable pressure but also a steady Northerly wind.

Hum.80% and will run lower during the days. The wind is drying us up some and maybe the Sun will dry the remaining mud over the next 2 days.

Wind NE 6mph and still blowing. Looking now for a Southerly shift on Thursday but we’ll see some Easterly by later tonight.

Sky Mostly Cloudy but Clearing is on the way. Look for Sun today and Thursday.

The Summary, Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 46. North northeast wind around 5 mph. Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 27. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 53. Calm wind becoming east southeast around 5 mph. Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph.

Those 50’s on Thursday will feel balmy with all that December Sunshine. Hang in there folks.
