12/26/2009 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

This morning finds Sunny mostly clear skies and a Southwest wind of 5 to 10 mph. High today in the lower 40’s Low over night in the mid to upper 20’s. We have about 4 dry days ahead to finish the year out but it’ll be on the cool side. It is after all Winter time. We didn’t make our 7 AM trek today due to being out late and we’re in a Holiday mode here. But when we finally had to go the ground was still frozen so no mud, the Sun is shining brightly with a Cool Southerly breeze but not nearly as strong as Thursday night. Christmas Eve was rough and a lot of Tree damage for some folks and some power outages for several folks. We never lost power here but we were prepared with the flashlight at the ready and the Oil Lamps strategically placed and the aim A flame handy. I had some out doors stuff to blow over but nothing damaged. We recorded a 39 mph gust but my anemometer needs a few seconds to update and in between those updates a gust can sneak in there. We had a couple that shook the house hard that I’m betting were over 45 or so. But we have a peaceful few days ahead before we look at some precipitation of one kind or another mid week next. The facts are going to be what I’m reading off the Dials at about 10 AM and next week we get back to normal.

We did report a .01″ of Rain and a Report of Snow flurries on Christmas Day.
Temperature is 42 degrees and we likely don’t go a lot higher than that today. We’ll have a cool but not frigid mid 20’s to upper 20’s night thanks to the southerly wind. That will trend more Northwest over the next couple of days.

Barometer has risen to 30.10″ and will continue to rise for a day or so. We had a 29.45 for a few hours Thursday night and it was Stormy enough even without the Thunder and Lightening.

Humidity is 65% even with the South wind and I’m hoping we can dry out some before the wet returns. Our low sun angle won’t dry up much but we can firm up some we’ll take it. It’s not hardly ever dusty around here in the Winter time!

Wind is Southwest at 6mph now but it could be a bit brisk later today. We have South winds until Sunday night or Monday when it shifts more Northerly. We will not see much Calm as we can expect at least a gentle breeze even over night.

Sky is Clear and Sunny but we’ll have some Clouds with the Sun during the next few days.

The Summary for the weekend ahead, Today: Sunny, with a high near 47. Southwest wind between 10 and 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 29. South southwest wind between 5 and 10 mph. Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 44. South wind 5 to 15 mph becoming west. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24. West northwest wind between 5 and 10 mph. Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 42. Northwest wind between 5 and 15 mph.

So there you have it. Better late than never. Hope you had a Merry Christmas and your loved ones all made it in on time and safe. Have a great weekend. We have some tranquil weather for the years end.
