1/7/2010 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

So far the Snow has managed to evaporate in our Cold Dry Air and the majority of the Snow seems to be tracking to our North. Still we have chances for a half inch as more is gathering to the West. The 27 degrees feels warm. Very Cold Air will soon follow. I guess we are getting robbed of our Blizzard but we have 2 and a half months to make up for it so don’t give up. We can still expect Snow Showers today with accumulations likely. The Winter Weather Advisory is still active. And Friday we have a “Wind Chill Advisory”. That’s not very common around here but it’ll be Cold and there have been several deaths from the Cold in the past week. School is out all over Middle Tennessee and we all went out on a limb and were sure it was Snowing and my Wife just informed me that it was Snowing now at 7:55 AM. The guys and I hit the Trail about a hour ago and didn’t see so much as a flake but we did have a chance encounter with a Skunk who we skillfully avoided. Old Benji sounded the advance warning, He doesn’t Bark much but I’ve learned to listen when he does. When Benji Barks there really is something out there. In his younger days he sounded the alarm that sent some would be car burglars running for their lives. Now here are the facts.

Reporting a Trace of Precip. for Flurries.
Temp.27deg. and that’s a big change over the past few days. Very Cold Air returns tonight.

Bar.30.10″ and just really started falling about 11 last evening. The Low Pressure center of this Front is tracking further North than originally predicted.

Hum. 70% and that’s not a lot in this cold air. Likely a lot of our potential Snow is not making it to the ground.

Wind S 5mph but a North Shift later today and gusty Cold wind is on the way.

Sky Cloudy and not much Sun until Sunday.

The Summary, Today: Snow. High near 33. West southwest wind between 10 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Tonight: Scattered flurries. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 13. West northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Friday: A 20 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 23. Wind chill values as low as -1. Northwest wind between 10 and 15 mph.

Still have a chance of Snow and a certainty of very Cold Air for Friday and Saturday.
