1/11/2010 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

Sun’s up this morning on a still mostly clear Sky. A wind shift Southerly overnight will warm us to above freezing and those upper 30’s will feel warm. This evening Clouds and a light Snow event but not a lot of Snow predicted. Tuesday will be Cold again but Clearing and then on Wednesday a warming trend begins for a few days. The Puppy Dog Trail this morning is mostly free from Snow but the ground remains frozen. We don’t mind the hard ground and much prefer that to the mud that frequently follows our little Tennessee Snowfalls. The Blue Birds and Redbirds are about this morning and they seem to be getting along without any problems. We got 25 pounds of Seed so maybe we can keep everybody happy. The dogs were hot on the trail of something but we never cornered anything. We have some chores this week if the temperature get’s into the upper 40’s as predicted. Another blast of Winter could be just around the corner so don’t let opportunity pass you by. Now for the facts.

We didn’t report any precipitation for the last 48 hours as the Flurries finally stopped Saturday morning. There is for all practical purposes no Snow on the ground here except in a few shady areas.
Temp.12deg. but warming rather quickly on a Southerly wind to near 40 degrees. Not as Cold tonight if 22 degrees can be called not as Cold. Cold on Tuesday but warming Wednesday through Friday.

Bar.30.30″ and starting to Fall some more but a quick rebound on Tuesday afternoon.

Hum.75% and surface moisture will increase slightly with the South wind.

Wind SE 4mph and maybe gusty later today. A shift again to the North on Tuesday but by Wednesday trending again West to Southwest.

Sky Partly Cloudy and Clouds on the increase today with Snow showers tonight. Clearing on Tuesday.

The Summary, Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 40. Southwest wind between 10 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Tonight: Scattered snow showers. Cloudy, with a low around 22. North northwest wind between 5 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Tuesday: Mostly cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 32. North wind around 10 mph. Tuesday Night: Clear, with a low around 19. North wind between 5 and 10 mph becoming calm.

January is a month when things can happen quickly so be flexible and remember everyday is one day closer to Spring. Have a good one.
