1/12/2010 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

Cloudy and Cold with a Brisk North Wind today but Sun returning this afternoon High only 32 Degrees. Wind Shifts Southerly Wednesday and mid 40’s will feel good. Warming trend through the week end. We need a break before the Heating Bill breaks us. We didn’t see any Flurries here so we’re going with a big Zero for our precipitation report. The returning North Wind has kept the ground frozen but it’s dry and my little Missy Dog found some scents to track this morning. I’d swear she’s got some Bloodhound in her somewhere because she sure likes to track. She finds stuff sometime too so I have to to be ready for anything. We are a haven today for Red Cardinals and a fair number of Bluebirds. We also have a couple of million Starlings but they are mostly in the Wood Lot next door. My Lawn has gone completely dormant from the severe cold. The last few years we have managed to keep some semblance of Green through most of the Winter but not anything is green now. The really old guys tell me that’s actually good and we’re all hoping the Bugs that feed off the Grass will be greatly reduced this coming Summer as well. We hit 37 degrees here yesterday and my old truck started up on the first crank for the first time in several days. Maybe we’ll get through the Winter on that Battery after all. Now let’s look at the facts.

We did not report any precipitation for the previous 24 hours.
Temp.20deg. and after a reinforcing Cold front we only have a 32 and 19 degree day. Warmer air moving in on Wednesday.

Bar.30.35″ and Rising again after a dip yesterday but we’ll have stable and fairly strong pressure for a few days.

Hum.75% and dry air with the North wind. We will slowly build up some humidity during our Warming trend.

Wind N 6mph and will be 5 to maybe 15 mph at times today. Look for a Southerly shift for Wednesday.

Sky Overcast but Sun should be returning.

The Summary, Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 32. North wind between 5 and 10 mph. Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 19. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 46. Calm wind becoming south southwest around 5 mph. Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 21. Calm wind.

We have a little tranquility in our Forecast through the mid month. What’s next? It’s looking active over Siberia so in a few days we may have more Winter Weather. Have a good day.
