1/27/2010 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

Sun and Clouds today with warmer temperatures extending into the upper 40’s. Tonight more Clouds as temperature hovers near but above freezing in many spots. Thursday Rain chances increase as Winter Weather Warnings go up. Thursday night into Friday morning could see us having a mix of Freezing Rain and Sleet but right now the Southern Region looks to be spared the worst of it until afternoon on Friday when the coldest air drops across the area. Then maybe we get more Snow than Ice…but that’s a best case scenario. I’m still gearing up for a rough ride but hoping for the best. Outside it feels more like a late Winter morning with a good freeze on the ground but some Sun and warmth in the air. The Cows are making a lot of noise this morning in the field across the street. They are getting extra rations this morning .If they are going to be out in Winter Weather their tummy’s have to be full. I filled up my Bird Feeder and have extra seed we can toss around once the precipitation ends. I guess the squirrels know what they are doing when they gather all those Nuts in the Fall. Now for the facts.

We did not report any precip. for the previous 24 hours.
Temp.23deg. and heading up as we have a warmer day prior to the Winter Weather coming in. Not as Cold tonight.

Bar.30.25″ and holding for the moment. The drop may begin as early as this evening.

Hum.90% but some of that will dry up as we warm up. But the atmosphere will pick up some moisture as the winds trend Southerly on the way to a more easterly direction by Thursday night.

Wind Calm but will be Southerly but varying toward the East as the Low Pressure approaches and Passes by to the South.

Sky Partly Cloudy but Clouds on the Increase.

The Summary, …WINTER STORM EXPECTED IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE LATE THIS WEEK…A WINTER STORM IS STILL FORECAST FOR MIDDLE TENNESSEE LATE THIS WEEK, WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF SIGNIFICANT SNOW AND ICE ACCUMULATIONS. THOSE PLANNING TRAVEL DURING THAT PERIOD SHOULD REMAIN AWARE OF THE LATEST WEATHER FORECAST.A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO MOVE ALONG THE GULF COAST REGION THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING. THIS SYSTEM WILL PROVIDE AN INCREASE IN MOISTURE ACROSS THE MID STATE WHILE PULLING IN COLDER AIR FROM THE NORTH.

Today…Partly sunny. Highs in the mid 40s. South winds 5 to 10 mph.Tonight…Partly cloudy in the evening then becoming mostly cloudy. Lows in the mid 30s. Light southwest winds.Thursday…Cloudy with a slight chance of rain showers. Highs in the mid 40s. North winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.Thursday Night…Cloudy. A slight chance of light rain…snow and sleet in the evening…then snow…sleet and freezing rain likely after midnight. Lows in the lower 30s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation 60 percent.

We are praying for more Snow than Ice and preparing for what comes. Hope you are as well.
Stay safe.
