2/3/2010 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

Morning Clouds and Cold temperature are yielding to Sun and mild upper 40’s today. Clouds returning however as Rain chances advance on Thursday. Friday night into Saturday turns colder and some very light Snow chances. Monday into Tuesday has Snow chances as well. Those first of the week Snow chances may be for a more significant amount than this weekend so we’ll watch that for a few more days. This weekend we will have Low pressure areas both to our North and South and depending on the track of them we may not have a lot of Cold air until the precipitation has moved on. But we are fairly sure it will be wet. Just what we need more water standing around. This morning we have a good deal of Sun and a slightly freshening North wind so maybe we can dry up a little here and there. But all in all we’ve had a wet Winter so far after a wet year last year. The drought of two years ago is just a distant memory now. Outdoors we trudged down the trail to the barn today mud and all, we’ve got no choice but to surrender or carry on. We have a flock of Geese on the pond this morning. They may be thinking about moving on North or sometimes they hang out here for weeks at a time. I’m thinking they are anticipating Spring as well as we are. The days are slowly getting longer and that is likely what the Geese set their Calender by. I have observed that in the early morning most of the larger birds sit on the Power line by the road facing East watching the Sun come up. In the evening the same birds are facing West sadly watching the Sun go down. They’re Birds but they aren’t stupid. Now for the facts.

We did not report any precipitation for the past 24 hours.
Temp.33deg. and warming as the Sun is trying to peek out. We’ll see 46 or better today. Just about near normal for this day of the year.

Bar.30.25″ and not going to Rise much and likely Falling by this evening. a lot of unstable weather out West is coming this way. The Southern Branch of the Jet Stream is busy.

Hum. 88% and even with all the Water on the ground the Sun and cool air are drying us out slowly. It’s not going to last however as more moist air is in the forecast.

Wind Calm early but by 7:30 it’s picking up to 5 mph out of the North.

Sky Partly Cloudy but we’ll see more Sun than Clouds at least for the first half of the day. Clouds returning tonight and not much Sun on Thursday.

The Summary, Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 46. North wind around 5 mph. Tonight: Increasing clouds, with a low around 30. Northeast wind around 5 mph. Thursday: A 50 percent chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 47. East wind between 5 and 10 mph. Thursday Night: Rain. Low around 38. East wind between 10 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

The temperature is running about “Normal” for the first week of February. I sure wish we could get 4 or 5 Sunny days in a row. Have a good day.
