3/12/2010 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

Thunder and Rain this morning, Started at 5:15. And after some Hail early, no Warnings presently. More Weather coming our way so keep a eye out. We will remain cool today in the mid 50’s. We are shaping up to be cool and Showery this weekend but next week looks more Sunny. The Hail this morning was mostly in the Southern area’s of Bedford County and from the spotter who called in on the Radio it was about three quarters of a inch in diameter and covering the ground. The new criteria from the National Weather Service has increased the size of Hail for reporting purposes up to 1 inch before it’s considered to be “Severe”, but listening to the guy it sounded pretty loud to me. We’re entering the last week of Winter and this little stormy period is mostly on schedule I guess. Outdoors this morning it’s Lightening and Thunder and pouring so we didn’t make the trip. We likely have more Rain off and on today and the Center of Low pressure is over Bedford and Coffee Counties this morning and moving slowly North and East which will allow some “Wrap Around” weather to stream in over the next day or so. Now for those facts.

We reported .76″ for the 24 hour period and it was Raining hard at observation time.
Temp. was 48 degrees at 7 AM and we stay cool today with the Clouds and Rain.

Barometer is 29.65″ and Steady now after a steep drop over the last 12 hours. The Low Pressure center is nearly on top of us. Likely we will rise slowly as the Low moves away slowly.

Humidity is 100% and will be saturated all day.

Winds are variable now with the Showers but were Northeast at 9 mph at observation time.

Sky is Overcast with Rain and Thunder and expect Clouds mostly all day.

The Summary,

A LOW PRESSURE AREA WILL MOVE ACROSS EASTERN PARTS OF MIDDLE
TENNESSEE TODAY AND PRODUCE THUNDERSTORMS...MAINLY ACROSS SOUTHERN
AND EASTERN AREAS. THERE IS A POSSIBILITY FOR ISOLATED SEVERE STORMS
...ESPECIALLY EAST OF A LINE FROM PULASKI TO BYRDSTOWN...INCLUDING
AREAS AROUND MANCHESTER...CROSSVILLE...COOKVILLE AND JAMESTOWN.
ONE OF THE MAIN THREATS FROM THESE STORMS WILL BE LARGE HAIL...ALTHOUGH
DAMAGING WINDS MAY ALSO OCCUR.

Today, Showers and Thunderstorms with a High near 58 degrees. Some storms may be severe.
Tonight, Cloudy with Showers and a Low of about 41 degrees.
Saturday, A continued chance of Showers and Cool with a High in the Low 50's.

Stay aware today but not looking too bad right now. Have a good day.
