3/22/2010 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

Clouds and Cold with some occasional Snow Showers early but mostly drizzle now. Look for light rain some flurries and a High near 40 degrees this afternoon. Cool tonight but not Cold and improving on Tuesday. By Wednesday we may see 70 deg. The air near the ground is not really very cold but the upper atmosphere temps. are cold enough to produce flurries and some of those manage to fall all the way to earth before melting. But, Spring has sprung and the cold snaps will become shorter and less frequent as we get on into April. Outdoors on the Puppydog Trail this morning old Benji decided to stay home but Missy and I dutifully trudged towards the Barn. With Snow falling and Rain mixed in as well it doesn’t feel much like Spring and Lord knows we have made this trek in the Snow too many times this past Winter. We were running early enough to catch the local Deer Population in the meadow but they ignored us and Missy has accepted them as “belonging” here so everybody remained cordial. We had a flyover by our Pair of Geese that still have remained on the Pond next door. Several more came through over the weekend but those guys didn’t stay long. The grass is greening up at a rapid pace now and unlike last year when we started mowing the last week of March I think we’ll be getting the Mower ready for the 10th of April or there about. Now for the facts.

We reported .81″ of Precipitation this morning. Mostly from Rain but some Snow was falling at observation time.
Temperature at 7AM was 33 degrees here in the country. The upper air is colder thus the flurries. We will make our way to 40 or 42 degrees this afternoon and remain in the upper 30’s tonight.

Barometer is 29.80″ but trying to Rise. Slowly we will see some improvement in the pressure through the mid week before another approaching Front on Thursday.

Humidity is 85% and we will remain on the damp side today but drier air for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Wind is Southerly at 6 mph this morning. The trend will be slowly more Westerly and 5 to 10 mph.

Sky is Cloudy and will remain so today. Some Sun on Tuesday but right now Wednesday looks like our best day this week.

The Summary, Today: Rain likely, possibly mixed with snow showers, becoming all rain after 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 42. South southwest wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Tonight: Scattered showers before 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 38. West wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 64. West northwest wind between 5 and 10 mph.

I know it doesn’t feel much like Spring but this will soon pass. Have a good day.
