4/20/2010 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

Clouds and Mild this morning but while you can see and smell the Rain it’s not making it to the ground in our dry surface level air. Those “Chances” end later today and then mild tonight and Partly Sunny on Wednesday. The High on Wednesday should be in the low 70’s. A more significant chance of Rain begins Friday evening and into Saturday and some possible Thunderstorms as well. Right now most folks will take Rain just about anyway we can get it. Outdoors today we encountered Bunny Rabbits, not nearly as many as we were having this time last year but we had enough to keep Missy hopping chasing after them. We could smell the Rain and even see some curtains of Rain cascading towards the ground but they fade away well before they get here. They call that phenomena Virga and it can drive Farmers crazy. Maybe we can catch some Drops today but it’s looking like our next best chance is this weekend. Now for the facts.

No Rain for the 24 hours previous.
Temperature at 7AM is a mild 54 degrees. High today about 68 and then 45 tonight. Look for 70 plus on Wednesday.

Barometer is 30.00″ and Steady for the moment. Our Pressure is going to be erratic for a few days. A Warm Front passes through Thursday that may open the door to some Rain on Friday night.

Humidity is ONLY 70% in the Cool of the morning. Until we get some low level moisture Rain is going to be scarce. Hoping the Warm Front Thursday evening will bring some Gulf moisture with it.

Wind is Calm but will be generally Westerly and 5 to 10 mph today and Wednesday.

Sky is Partly Cloudy and more Clouds than Sun today and more Sun than Clouds on Wednesday.

The Summary, Today: A 30 percent chance of showers. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 68. Calm wind becoming west southwest around 5 mph.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 45. North northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 73. Calm wind becoming northwest between 5 and 10 mph.

It’s a strange April we be having. Virga is more of a Late Summer thing here. It’s supposed to be more Rainy in April. I’m still wondering if the Jet Stream will send some Volcano Ash here. It’s got to make it all the way around the World first but it’s been known to happen. We will wait and see. Have a good one.
