4/22/2010 @ 7AM in Bedford County, Tennessee

Clouds today and maybe a spot or two of Rain but I don’t think the heavy stuff will be coming for quite awhile. Storms likely on Saturday. Today a 20% chance of Showers and a High of 75 degrees. Friday those Shower chances go to 30% Friday night and Saturday a “Significant Threat for Severe Weather” per the Weather Service Office in Nashville. Today a Warm Front overspreads the mid state moving from South to North, and this gets us a wind shift, a inflow of Moisture, and generally creates a unstable atmosphere that will be in place as a strong Cold Front comes in from the West on Saturday. This “Set Up” as i like to call it is the first real Storm Threat of this still young Spring Season. We ‘ll get some better information today and Friday concerning timing and etc. Meanwhile on the Outdoor Scene we all 3 hit the trail this morning as even the baby refused to be left behind. Tiny little Sophie saw her first White Tail Deer and she decided I could carry her after that. Also saw Turkey and Wabbits this morning. You might hear a rattle of Thunder today it looks a bit more threatening than it really is out here today but the real deal is coming together for Saturday. Now for the facts.

We had no precipitation to report today but maybe some for tomorrow.
Temperature at 7 AM is 48 degrees and with less Sun it will take some time but look for 75 this afternoon. Lows will be in the 50’s tonight.

Barometer is 29.93″ and Steady. We fell of a bit over the last 24 hours and may Rise some after a Warm Front gets by us but look for a Fall later on Friday.

Humidity is 85% in the cool morning but will drop as we warm up. Still the trend is for more and more moisture so our next Rain maker likely will not fizzle out like the last one.

Wind is Calm early but Shifting Southerly. Look for 5 mph today and a 5 to 15 mph likely on Friday as the approaching Front compresses our atmosphere.

Sky is Overcast and look for more Clouds than Sun today.

The Summary, Today: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 75. Southwest wind between 5 and 10 mph.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57. South southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 81. South southwest wind between 5 and 15 mph.

Friday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy, with a low around 63. South wind between 5 and 10 mph.

It gets interesting later on Friday so we got some work to do. We need the Rain but hoping for no serious problems. Have a good one. And I’ll tack on the National Weather Service advisory now.

...SEVERE WEATHER LIKELY THIS WEEKEND...

A STRONG STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE OUT OF THE SOUTHERN PLAINS ON
FRIDAY AND INTO THE LOWER AND MID MISSISSIPPI VALLEY REGION ON
SATURDAY.

THE SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO BRING A ROUND OF SEVERE WEATHER TO
MIDDLE TENNESSEE SATURDAY INTO SATURDAY EVENING. HAZARDS WITH THIS
SYSTEM INCLUDE LARGE HAIL...DAMAGING WINDS...ISOLATED TORNADOES
AND FLASH FLOODING.

MIDDLE TENNESSEE RESIDENTS SHOULD PREPARE FOR SEVERE WEATHER
SATURDAY. IT IS A GOOD TIME TO PURCHASE A NOAA WEATHER RADIO IF
YOU DO NOT HAVE ONE.
